A personal blog from a gecko living on Koh Samui. Discover how Samui Life was created and explore the island through locations, events, and real everyday island vibes.

Hi. Yes, it’s me — a gecko. And yes, I live on Samui 🦎

I didn’t immediately realize that this island was worth talking about. At first, Samui felt too comfortable, too clear, almost predictable. Everything here seems already set up: roads, cafes, services, life.

But then I started noticing the details.

How the light changes on the beach closer to sunset. How different parts of the island have their own sound. How the same places feel completely different if you just come at another time.

And at some point, I caught myself thinking: Samui deserves to be collected in one place too.

Not as a directory. But as a living map.

That’s how Samui Life appeared — a place where you can see the island a little deeper: locations, events, useful things, and simple observations that usually get lost between stories and random notes.

By the way, I’m not the only one doing this.

I have a friend. Also a gecko, but green. He lives on a nearby island — Phangan. And he’s been collecting his world there for a while under the name Phangan Life.

Sometimes we compare notes.

He has more freedom, spontaneity, and parties. I have more structure, rhythm, and everyday life.

And that’s normal. Because the islands are different.

But the idea is the same.

To gather everything important in one place, so it’s easier to live, explore, and feel the island.

So if you’re here — on Samui — it means you’re already part of this story.

I’ll be around. I’ll show you where it gets interesting. And sometimes — where it gets unexpected.

Let’s go 🦎
